"Six hours of meditation and Chi Kung every day for 7 days... I was floating on air (in a very grounded, embodied way) by the end... I don't think I've ever felt so good in my body & so spiritually connected. I've done four day Chi Kung classes before, and always felt great afterwards, but something extra really kicked in on day 5 of the retreat... every aspect of my life started to become infused with an awareness of Chi... I could feel the Chi in the ground beneath me as I walked, and even the most mundane movements, like making a cup of tea, became a ritual of awareness and deep connection to my own body and the environment. Even though I haven't managed to practice as much as I would like since I returned home, I feel as though something has shifted permanently in my being, something I can never lose now that I have experienced such a heightened level of awareness. I am finding it easier to slow down, be mindful and present, without needing to rush around doing multiple things at once. I am much happier just being. Thanks!! This 7 day residential retreat will be held at Vaughan Park Retreat and Conference Centre at Long Bay on Auckland's North Shore, New Zealand
This retreat is suitable for beginners through to advanced students and anyone with an interest in deepening their understanding and practice of Chi Kung.
The program includes a mix of moving and static forms, meditation and theory. There will be time to relax and enjoy the natural setting of the centre in between program sessions. Please see the program below for details of the schedule.

The centre is positioned at the South end of Long Bay Beach in the East Coast Bays.
Its tranquil setting overlooks the bay and regional park which includes a number of public facilities.
The retreat is designed to be a paced and effortless approach to Chi Kung and has a series of tutored sessions spread throughout the day. In between, participants are encouraged to rest or enjoy the beach walks.
Transformational processes will begin to occur and you may notice some or all of the following; the body begins to feel energized and toned, the mind becomes still and settled, physiological systems regulate, perceptual shifts towards life and the environment become evident, consciousness changes throughout your body and mind, there is physical and emotional clearing, a deeper connection to higher nature and deep and permanent shifts can be felt within the Chi system.
The theme for this retreat is 5 Element Transformations. We will explore each Element as an expression in Nature. Elemental and Organ movements are exciting forms to practice and bring you into alignment with Natural Chi flows in your body and in the field around you. Each day will include joint opening exercises, movement forms and walks, standing and sitting postures. The emphasis will be on accessing your Element and Organ Chi bringing about a balance of the 5 Elements.
Participants are invited to arrive at the retreat centre before 10am to settle in and to be ready to start the morning session by 10:30. We will start with introductions and house keeping and then at 11:00 the daily program begins with the exploration of basic forms, concepts and theories. See below for daily program timetable
